Animals in Valencian

Knowledge is the first indispensable basis for understanding and loving the world of nature.

The motivation that prompted us to explore this topic originates in our interest in the animals present in our territory: fish, mammals and birds.

Of the latter group, the largest number are anatids and waders, migratory species due to the presence of the River Po, one of Europe's major migratory routes.

The basis of this work is the search for the names given in Valencian dialect to the local fauna, ornithology in primis, influenced and certainly stimulated by my experiences as a hunter, which allowed me, through captures, to get to know the characteristics of the species live, assisted, supported and encouraged by one of the most expert Italian ornithologists: Dario Raspagni from Valenza.

The lists for research and recognition, graphically ordered in columns and arranged in Italian, English and dialect, are completed by the systematic name of the species.
